New Year and a new Basic Mentor Training Program

A New Beginning — Just Before the Jewish New Year ✨Led by me, Rachel Kolette Wheeler, we brought together a diverse, inspiring group: people with disabilities, mothers of grown children with disabilities, and passionate advocates for empowerment and inclusion. For two days, we shared learning, excitement, deep reflection, and heartfelt connections.
A truly moving moment on the first day: Ayelet Sarir, mother of Dror z”l (the program namesake), shared how meaningful the mentoring support her son received had been. One big heart, and a moment none of us will forget 🙏
We continue our journey through Zoom meetings and look forward to taking part in the upcoming mini empowerment workshops and to moving forward into the next phase of the program. If all goes as planned, the next phase is expected to begin in February.
When we come together in this program, it’s clear that we bring something distinctive to the world — a way of seeing possibilities beyond stigma, being committed to transformation, and creating heartfelt, authentic, and personal connections with our mentees.
All of these together help make what once seemed impossible — possible. 💫
We’re so happy to see more potential mentors stepping into this journey with us.
